Theme Events

Halloween Soirée

On Halloween night, the Pasfield House becomes the perfect setting for a scary Soirée. You can find guests dining while being entertained with a classic melodrama video on the dining room's large projector screen. Other Halloween nights have included a costumed wine and cheese reception where some guests refuse to even appear out of costume. The classical architecture of the Pasfield House, lit by candlelight and black lights, sets an eerie tone on the inside as a fog-induced entrance enhanced by realistic tombstones and an animated butler straight from the Rocky Horror Picture Show welcomes guests to enter. Proprietor Tony Leone sometimes hosts company, or guests may book in advance for their own private affair.

Mardi Gras Parties

The Pasfield House never misses an opportunity to host a Mardi Gras party. The home's interior is decorated with full Mardi Grad regalia that makes one think they're at a New Orleans socialite's home on St. Charles Avenue. These parties always serve authentic Creole and Cajun cuisine that's enjoyed critical acclaim. Guests are greeted and adorned with Mardi Gras beads. Many guests come all ready decked out with their favorite Mardi Gras attire or masks. Pasfield House owner Tony Leone often proclaims, “You can't help but have a fun time with an authentic Pat O'Brien's Hurricane while adorned with beads and surrounded by wonderful music and authentic New Orleans cuisine.”

Casino Royale Night

The Pasfield House is transformed into what appears to be a Monte Carlo casino, as the Capitol view reception room becomes a gaming room for a night of casino games – all for fun and charity. The evening will close with an auction for prizes, with the beneficiary a worthy charitable cause.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration Receptions

This May 5 celebration features an abundance of traditional Mexican fare that is sure to delight anyone with an appetite for south-of-the-border cuisine. The Pasfield House has had maria chi bands serenade its guests during this wonderful time to celebrate Hispanic heritage.

A Night in Old Havana

Though the Illinois trade mission lead by former Gov. George Ryan to Havana Cuba was historic and groundbreaking, we're sure no one traveling in his entourage had any more fun than you can have at a Pasfield House “Night in Old Havana” theme party. The elder George Pasfield's import business ventures brought his travels all the way to Havana, Cuba, when trade was legal. Not going back that far in time, the Pasfield House creates an updated version of pre-Castro Havana happening. We promise the Pasfield House Kitchen will serve just as flavorful mojitos or classic Cuban Cuisine as you'll find off the Key West Florida coast. With our authentic background music… Come let us transport you to Old Havana.

Margaretville Jimmy Buffet Party

Come join us for an outdoor event fitted for any parrothead. While the ocean may not be near and the palm trees are fake, the spirit is strong with all of Jimmy's favorite songs. Guests reminisce about their concert experiences, while of course eating cheeseburgers in paradise and sipping that favorite concoction – a margarita.

Big Band or Blue Grass

Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to hold that outdoor concert featuring the big band sound or bluegrass. Guests enjoy outdoor fare typical of a “band shell” picnic celebration.

Traditional Patriotic Ice Cream Social

Our grounds are perfect for a traditional ice cream social, whether it's with a patriotic theme for the 4th of July or a party just to say thanks to volunteers. The Pasfield House welcomes its guests with gardens, patio and veranda seating areas and classic architectural detail. We can have a string quartet or vintage heritage choir provide relaxing background entertainment as guests mingle.

“The Pasfield Club”

The Pasfield House occasionally transforms into an intimate venue for red-hot blues, comedy club performances or an in-home concert series. “The Pasfield Club” hosts talented artists accented by hors d'oeuvres guests can enjoy before, during and after performances.
