Cooking Classes
Lincoln Land Community College Cooking Classes
Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Hospitality Director Jay Kittermann has a great reputation for having developed an extensive culinary program offering both basic courses and gourmet dinners. In 2007 LLCC is offering a series of specialty classes at the Pasfield House. The most recent schedule is posted below (also see Event Calendar for specific class schedule, times and how to register).
The cooking class is a cooperative effort of LLCC earlier focus to assist in preparation of the Pasfield House Presidential Dinners. It's culinary collaboration was such a good fit the college is hosting cooking classes through non-credit community education in the recently installed Pasfield Kitchen facility. A chef’s table class room has been constructed with a staging area for the chef to prepare and cook in front of an audience. Seating is arranged at variable height tables so the students have an unobstructed view. After the food is prepared, attendees will be able to feast on that day’s fine cuisine. Wine may be purchased to accompany your food selection. This program will not only appeal to tourists but to local foodies alike. With LLCC recognition in the hospitality trade and a continued relationship flourishing with the Pasfield House, Leone is offering additional culinary gatherings organized around other Central Illinois Celebrity Chefs. Both real and aspiring Celebrity Chefs will want to display their cooking art to friends and fans. A profit sharing arrangement will be developed for these specialty dinners the chefs prepare and serve at the Pasfield Kitchen Chef’s Table. Most common will be for the social interaction and the pure fun of eating fine cuisine, while socializing with old friends or making new ones.
