Letter to endorse Pasfield & Capial
I may be unable to attend this evening meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission but wanted to express my enthusiastic support for the above noted proposal being considered. As a business owner just down the block from the site on Pasfield Street, I feel this type of development compliments what has already begun on the near west side of the Capitol Complex.
Let me take this opportunity to commend Steve Preckwinkle of the Illinois Teachers Federation for his time, patients and cooperation. Steve and the ITF have taken into consideration my concerns. I’m confident that the neighbors most closely affected are also in support, as well as the Vinegar Hill Neighborhood Association who work with all of us for a more formal agreement.
Let me also indicate that though I do not share exact property boundaries with the proposed site, the property boundary of the Dirksen House, my new residence, is less than 20 feet away from the SW corner of their lot. This same type of cooperation will hopefully be forthcoming before someone begins development of the four western lots of Travis Kelty’s former commercial development project along Capital Street.
Your favorable consideration is requested.
